EKKM performance: Poncili Creacion Dirty Laughing Molecules

On 31 July at 20.00, the Puerto Rican duo Poncili Creacion will present their performance Dirty Laughing Molecules as part of the EKKM performance programme, launched this year.

Dirty Laughing Molecules is an example of the punk-puppetry of brothers Pablo and Efrain Del Hierro, which can truly be described as raw magic! The collision of movement, materials, colours and sound in this performance is an ode to freedom and the power of creativity in the 21st century. Through gigantic forms, explosive comicality and experimental sound, the molecules strive towards their singular goal – to bend the complex system of consciousness and challenge everyday perception.

Formed in Puerto Rico over a decade ago, Poncili Creacion are a nomadic performance duo who challenge the traditions of theatre and performing arts with their punk sensibility. Through a fusion of costumes made from rubbish, DIY forms, experimental theatre and contemporary dance, they morph into creatures and objects that shift the audience’s awareness beyond the human species. Ritualistic performances point out the potential of puppetry to radically shake up reality and create a world where everything is possible. Poncili Creacion’s performing environments are also adaptive and mutating, bringing their performances to famous stages as well as museums, urban spaces, people’s backyards, schools, bars, toilets and beyond.

The show Dirty Laughing Molecules in Tallinn will be accompanied by Kristjan Tenso on drums and Gregor Kulla on oboe.
The performance is free of charge, takes place outdoors and lasts for 45 minutes.
It’s not precisely a family performance, but is kid-friendly, with some minor adult content. 😉

On the performance evening, the exhibition and bar will be open until 22:00.
