Rooms in Rhymes: curator Laura Linsi III floor

From 4 April, the exhibitions of the collaborative project Rooms in Rhymes by seven curators will start to open. Each week a new exhibition by one of the curators replaces another on one of the museum floors, thus forming a rhythmical and fluctuating whole of displays throughout the museum building. Openings on 4, 11, 17 and 25 April, as well as 2 and 9 May.

The exhibition cycle experiments with curating as a form of poetic, performative and collective practice, wishing to enhance dialogue in visual art projects and to host the plurality of voices. Evelyn Raudsepp invited an extended group of curators to join her, including team members usually carrying out different roles at the museum, and creatives who have previously worked with EKKM: Anita Kodanik, Brigit Arop, Johannes Luik, Laura De Jaeger, Laura Linsi and Marten Esko. The exhibition will feature more than 20 artists, both local and international, including authors from the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom.

For her exhibition from the cycle Rooms in Rhymes, Laura Linsi has invited artist Benjamin Arthur Brown, who intertwines performance and sculptures with non-reality, which reflects the absurd of our reality.
Artist: Benjamin Arthur Brown.
Opening night will take place on 2 May from 18-21. At 19:00 there will be a live performance by artist Benjamin Arthur Brown.

Nothing new—a man, burnt out, no sleep, no appetite, low mood, finds solace in the esoteric. A fried egg turns stone cold, static on the radio, a billboard on TV confirms—’Nothing New’.

We’d like to tell you a little story. As you walk through it, suspend your disbelief. Let the voice wash over you. What’s the worst that could happen?

Benjamin Arthur Brown sets up a non-reality reflecting our reality on the third floor of EKKM. In the centre of the exhibition is a recorded performance of the artist-everyman telling a story of his state of depression and him seeking help from a crystal sound bath. He wanders around bored, picking up things at random, on the internet, somehow ends up in a sound bath session and …

HAHAHAHA
What IS the worst that could happen?
